Singaporean Comedy Movie Where We Do Our Own Stunts???

Taking a trip down into our archives, here's a newsletter post from back in 2024!

How’ve you been?

For us, it’s been a fulfilling month gearing up for our next phase — shooting the film!

While we’re lining up at the starting line, we took some time to reflect on the journey so far and wanted to take some time to thank YOU.

You, our friend, have played such an important role in getting us here. We wanted to just thank you for your support and are incredibly grateful.

We also realised one important thing we might have missed:

“What is the movie about?”

Well, who better to ask than the man himself:

“It’s about the power of friendship to save the world!!!”

(editor’s note: eh if you feel like you want to know more about the premise of the movie, please write in to: martin@wecansavetheworld.movie with the title: GIVE ME MORE, we will go bug Chai Hong again haha)

Rehearsals ramped up,

And we got to spend more time with our cast. While developing chemistry, the organic interactions gave birth to many new moments that made their way into the film.

Apart from script rehearsals, we got together with our stunt coordinator (yes! stunts!), Sunny Pang, to get our actors ready for their action scenes!

If you’ve been following us on IG, you would have seen some of our cast practicing some moves on one another.

Taking some time to reflect.

Chai Hong decided to pen down some thoughts, after going through the month of hecticness.

In the beginning, I frequently lamented that we don’t have a movie industry if all we have are arthouse festival movies… and Jack Neo. Those thoughts haven’t changed, but I’ve begun realising what I truly want to do with this movie - I want to make a movie that’s truly for our generation of Singaporeans. It should be unabashedly Singaporean, it should speak to our sensibilities, and it should reflect our hopes, fears, and dreams.

Once again, thank you all for your unwavering support. We look forward to shooting a kickass movie and presenting it to you!

In the meantime, take care and remember to drink more water!

P.S. we received some love on Reddit from one of you!
